Bose Smart Soundbar 900 launched in India with Dolby Atmos https://www.digit.in vasan.gs@9dot9.in (G. S. Vasan) Bose India has unveiled a new soundbar in India called Smart Soundbar 900. It is a Dolby Atmos speaker backed by proprietary spatial technologies. Thanks to the presence of HDMI eARC, you get to plug in the soundbar to a TV with a single cable and have a two-way sound transmission. There are wireless connectivity options like WiFi and Bluetooth also. Not only that, the new Bose soundbar also supports remote voice control with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. There’s even a smart app for this purpose. You also get to enjoy Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2. So, let’s see have a better look at the offering from this Bose Smart Soundbar 700 successor. Bose Smart Soundbar 900 Specs and Features The Bose soundbar is equipped with Dolby Atmos for surround sound. This is accompanied with the company’s own tricks for the spatial sound. Bose has put in custom arrays, dipole-transducers, and low-profile transducers along with what is called Bose spatial technologies. Here’s how the company describes its in-house features: “While conventional Dolby Atmos soundbars create sound “overhead,” the 900 does more. Bose PhaseGuide technology adds other dimensions just as precisely, placing and “pinning” distinct sound to the right and left where there are no speakers. So the helicopter hovers above you – while the actors run past you, not across your screen. Or the singer is standing center-left while performing – and you hear them performing center-left in your room. When there’s no Dolby Atmos content, the horizontal spatial effects are just as effective, and Bose TrueSpace technology takes over for the vertical experience, remixing signals to add “height” without adding a ceiling speaker. For programming or playlists, Bose QuietPort technology delivers exceptional bass performance and virtually no distortion at any volume. And if furnishings or system placement interfere with audio quality, proprietary ADAPTiQ technology automatically fixes it, optimizing performance for every space, every time.” Bose notes the dimensions of the Smart Soundbar 900 to be — 2.3” high, just over 4” deep, and 41” long. It is oval-shaped with wraparound metal grille and a supposedly impact-resistant tempered glass top. As mentioned already in the beginning, there’s support for HDMI eARC which allows for a single cable two-way audio transmission with your TV. The Bose Smart Soudbar 900 specifications include WiFi, Bluetooth, built-in voice control with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, and Bose Voice4Video which lets you quickly call up a video on screen with your voice. Bose Smart Soundbar 900 Price and Availability You can buy the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 from all Bose exclusive stores, offline retail chains Croma, Reliance & Vijay sales, and on Amazon, Flipkart priced at ₹104900. Get your Adrian ShepherdPyro cosplay on with the Razer Zephyr facemask https://www.digit.in editor@digit.in (Kajoli Anand Puri) Earlier this year, Razer revealed its plans to develop and ship Smart face masks by the end of this year. The brand has made good on its promise and has finally revealed the Zephyr, a Smart RGB face mask designed for gamers to use during the pandemic. What is Razer’s Zephyr? Zephyr is Razer’s newest offering. The Smart mask has replaceable N95 filters and a dual fan active air filtration system that’s claimed to not only protect the user, but also those around them. The transparent front cover has silicone edges so that the mask can create a secure seal around the mouth and nose, ensuring protection from germs and viruses. Additionally, it has anti-fog coating and interior lights, along with the exterior RGB lights that you can control via your smartphone. The interior lights have been added to the product to ensure that the wearer’s face is visible in the dark. How much does Razer’s Smart Face Mask Cost? Razer’s Smart Face Mask reportedly costs $100 (Rs 7,485 approx converted) for the mask itself, or $150 for the starter kit, which includes three replaceable N95 filters. Each filter is priced at $30 if you plan to buy them individually. The masks are already out of stock on Razer’s website, and it may be a while before everyone can get their hands on them. Now everyone can create Spaces on Twitter https://www.digit.in editor@digit.in (Kajoli Anand Puri) Clubhouse has disrupted the social media world with its audio-only chat rooms, demonstrating that valuable content still has a space online. In an effort to emulate the same, Twitter launched its own version known as Spaces in November 2020. Users who had over 600 followers could host a space anytime. Now, Twitter has introduced two new developments, the ability to hold Ticketed Spaces, and the ability to host a Space irrespective of your follower count. Twitter is investing heavily in Spaces Ever since the launch of spaces, Twitter has demonstrated a keen interest in growing the platform. Over the course of a year, Twitter has added new functionalities to Spaces, including the ability to add co-hosts, up to 10 speakers (to create a panel), and a separate fund for creators leveraging Spaces, known as the Spark Program. Now, it wants everyone to use Spaces to grow their Twitter following. It will even help creators develop a new revenue stream with the help of its Ticketed Spaces. Clubhouse initially began as an invite-only platform, perhaps to create the same hype that OnePlus smartphones had when they initially launched with their invite-only sales. The new social media platform abandoned the invite-only mode in July this year, believing it had garnered as much as it could out of it. Twitter, on the other hand, is a little late in making Spaces available to everyone and it will be interesting to see whether this gap will impact customer adoption. Telegram saw 70 million new users when Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp went down https://www.digit.in editor@digit.in (Kajoli Anand Puri) Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram suffered a global outage that lasted over six hours on Monday evening. During this outage, one of Whatsapp’s biggest rivals, Telegram, saw 70 million new users sign up over the span of 6-7 hours. While Facebook reportedly lost 6 Billion USD during the outage, the likelihood of its losses to increase is high if users continue to adopt Telegram over its products. Telegram also shot to popularity earlier this year when WhatsApp’s privacy features came under scrutiny. Telegram celebrates while Whatsapp is down Telegram’s CEO, Pavel Durov, broke the news about Telegram’s new users when Whatsapp was down. “I am proud of how our team handled the unprecedented growth because Telegram continued to work flawlessly for the vast majority of our users. That said, some users in the Americas may have experienced slower speed than usual as millions of users from these continents rushed to sign up for Telegram at the same time,” Drove wrote on his Telegram channel. Addressing the outage, Facebook said, “Our engineering teams have learned that configuration changes on the backbone routers that coordinate network traffic between our data centres caused issues that interrupted this communication. This disruption to network traffic had a cascading effect on the way our data centres communicate, bringing our services to a halt.” Of course, a random surge in downloads and sign-ups may be cause for momentary happiness, but what remains to be seen is whether users stick to Telegram and Signal or migrate back to Whatsapp now that the app is up and running again. Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale 2021: Best deals on console games https://www.digit.in teamdigit@digit.in (Team Digit) Amazon’s massive Great Indian Festival sale is back and as always, there are a lot of good deals for you to sift through. And, if you are a console gamer, then you have come to the right place. We have gone through the game deals on offer and have compiled a list of the best games you can get during the sale. We did not include any Switch games because Nintendo generally does not lower the price of its games. So, take it for what it is. As one might expect, most of the deals are on the Sony PlayStation 4, but we did manage to find a few for the Xbox One and even two for the Sony PlayStation 5. So, let’s get cracking. PS5 games Demon’s Souls One of the best experiences on the PS5, Demon’s Souls is a remake of the PS3 game. From Software’s games have always been on the more difficult side but the revamped graphics and look of Demon’s Souls makes it an excellent first step into the 9th generation of game consoles. Buy it here Miles Morales: SpiderMan A true next-gen experience, Miles Morales takes all that we loved from the 2018 Spiderman game and improves on it. With better graphics and more focused combat, Miles Morales is an excellent addition to your PS5 collection. Buy it here PS4 Games God of War One of the most engrossing and emotional games on the PS4, God of War is a reboot of sorts of the classic hack and slasher. With more emphasis on storytelling and the relationships between characters, the game deserves all the accolades it acquired simply because it retains the brutality and crushing combat from the previous games all while adding an emotional core to latch on to. Buy it here Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition If you’re looking for a mindless third-person adventure game that doesn’t really test the player too much, Horizon Zero Dawn is right up your alley. The game is polished in terms of combat but a lifeless protagonist and cookie-cutter story really bog the experience down. Even so, the game is a showcase of what the PS4 can do and it truly is spectacular. Buy It here Xbox Series X Games Watchdogs Legion Watchdogs did not inspire too much confidence when it first came out but every subsequent game since has improved on the original. The third game in the series, Legion gives you the freedom to hack anything (with a few caveats) and thus play the game how you want. Buy It Here Microsoft Flight Simulator Ever dreamt of being a world-class pilot? Well, this is the closest you will get without actually jumping into a real cockpit. One of the most detailed games out there, Microsoft Flight Simulator is much more than a game. It truly captures what it feels like to actually fly a plethora of different aircraft. The device has 600W of power output. The front centre, left and right channels are in the soundbar and the soundbar connects to the subwoofer via a cable. NZXT Capsule USB Microphone launched for USD 12999 https://www.digit.in mithun.m@digit.in (Mithun Mohandas) NZXT Capsule marks the foray of NZXT into the microphone segment. The brand is known for their PC peripherals such as the Kraken line-up of AIO CPU coolers, PC Chassis, ATX power supplies and even motherboards. The NZXT Capsule is clearly targeted at gamers and video game streamers and is set to compete against the likes of Corsair's Wave 3, HyperX Quadcast and Solocast, Razer Siren X, Blue Yeti among others. The NZXT Capsule USB microphone is priced at USD 129.99 and there's a compatible Boom Arm that can be purchased for USD 99.99. Indian pricing for the NZXT Capsule and Boom Arm will be updated once we receive more details. “We really wanted to focus on giving gamers and streamers what they truly need.” says Johnny Hou, NZXT’s founder and CEO. “That is why with NZXT Capsule there are no unnecessary polar partners or software requirements for using. It is just an elegant microphone that simply plugs in and works – Mr. Naqui Ahmad Country Manager at India Added.” NZXT Capsule USB Microphone The NZXT Capsule is a unidirectional microphone which is set to a cardioid polar pattern so more of the user's voice will be picked up while discarding sounds coming from the opposite end. The frequency calibration is suited towards vocal clarity. It reportedly also has an internal shock mounting mechanism. The base even features a quick-release mechanism that allows the user to quickly swap the base mount the mic onto the boom arm. The NZXT can record up to 24-bit / 96 kHz audio with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The Total Harmonic Distortion is 0.1% at 1 kHz and it uses a USB Type-C interface much like other gaming-focused microphones that it competes against. The front face has two adjustment knobs, one for varying the microphone gain and the other for headphone volume control. With the stand, the entire unit weighs 883g and about 314g without the stand. The NZXT Capsule is available in Black and White colours. https://ift.tt/3kYKmEs September 08, 2021 at 09:30PM

Chrome 93 rolls out on Android, iOS, and desktop: Heres whats new: https://www.digit.in killersaurabhkumar@gmail.com (Saurabh Kumar) What’s New in Chrome 93: The update improved site isolation and phishing detection, along with Face ID / Touch ID support for incognito tabs on iOS. Google has now started rolling out Chrome 93 on the stable channel, and has made a couple of minor changes. According to a report on 9to5Google, Chrome 93 makes a small change to the Recently Closed menu, which lets you view all the sites in a recently closed collection and open them individually. You can try this feature by activating chrome: // flags / # tab-restore-submenus flag. Chrome 93 will now also display Google Drive documents on the New Tab page. The proposed documents will appear on a map below the search box, so you can easily access recently edited Google Docs or Spreadsheets. What’s New in Chrome 93 Dev Tools: https://twitter.com/ChromeDevTools/status/1433436465258635268?s=20 Let’s dive into the Dev Tools in Chrome93. You can now view and edit CSS container queries in the styles pane. Container queries give a much more dynamic approach to responsiveness. The alias container query works in a similar way to an alias media query however, instead of querying the viewport, the alias container queries the ancestor container that matches certain criteria. In the elements panel, click on a dom element with container queries. Dev tools will now display the container information in the style panes and you can edit the size of the container information by hovering the mouse over it to highlight the container element on the page and check the container size. You can now preview the web bundle content in the network panel. Web bundle is a file format for encapsulating one or more HTTP resources in a single file and it can also include or more Html files, Javascript files images, or stylesheets. The interesting use case is you can share websites as a single web bundle file over Bluetooth with your friends and they can run them offline in your origins contacts. Attribution reporting is a new API to help you measure whether a user action such as an ad click or view leads to a conversation without using cross-site identifiers. The new context menu in the console allows you to copy any string as content javascript literal or JSON literal. Instagram makes age verification mandatory to protect younger users https://www.digit.in harikrishnanms5175@gmail.com (Harikrishnan M S) In order to make the platform more creative and safe, Instagram will ask its users to update their birthday. This will allow the company to create new safety features for young people, and personalize user experience to provide the right experience to the right age group. This information also allows Instagram to restrict advertiser targeting options for audiences under the age of 18, to more people. And helps Instagram show users more relevant ads. This work began a few years ago when Instagram started asking people for their birthdays While Instagram has birthdays for most users, to get a more complete picture, the company will introduce two new changes. These changes only apply to people who haven’t already shared their birthday. Also Read: Instagram to bombard you with more ads, this time in the Shop Tab First, the app will ask you for your birthday when you open the application. Then I'll show you a notification a handful of times and if users haven’t provided their birthday by a certain point, users need to share it to continue using the app. This information is necessary for new features that the company develops to protect young people. Second,if you continue to see a warning screen placed on a post, Instagram will ask you for your birthday before you can see the post. These screens aren't new as Instagram has already shown them on posts that may be sensitive or graphic, but don’t currently ask for your birthday when viewing these posts. Now, the app I'll start asking for your birthday on some of these screens if you haven’t shared it with them previously. Instagram recognized some people may give them the wrong birthday The company is developing new systems to address this. As it stated recently, Instagram uses artificial intelligence to estimate how old people are based on things like “Happy Birthday” posts. In the future, if someone says they are above a certain age, and the company's technology says otherwise, the app will show you a menu of options to verify your age. This work is still in the early stages, and the company is looking forward to sharing more details soon. All changes are made to improve the safety and experience of young users. https://ift.tt/eA8V8J September 07, 2021 at 06:35PM
