Brahmastra Trailer Released Today https://www.digit.in teamdigit@digit.in (Team Digit) The trailer of the much-awaited film Brahmastra- Part One: Shiva was released on Wednesday, June 15th. The film’s star cast includes Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjun, and Mouni Roy. The adventure-fantasy film is written and directed by Ayan Mukerji. Now let’s talk about the trailer, shall we? About the Trailer Well, the trailer opens with the voice of Amitabh Bachchan taking us through the plot of the film where we are introduced to the ‘Astraverse’ i.e., a universe where elements of nature like fire, water, wind, etc. exist as weapons and have their own wielders. The story is about the weapon which tops them all, the Brahmastra. And the one who can wield it is Shiva, the protagonist of the film played by Ranbir Kapoor. Now, the catch here is that Shiva himself is no ordinary man but a weapon himself- the Agni Astra (fire weapon). Hence, we see a scene in the trailer where Shiva’s hand is on fire but when Isha (Shiva’s love interest in the movie) played by Alia Bhatt asks him whether he is ok, he replies “Main aag se jalta nahi. Kuch Rishta hai mera aag se” (I don’t burn in fire; I have a strange connection with fire). Now we all know where it is good, there lies evil too and hence there are these bad evil forces led by Junoon played by Mouni Roy, who are hunting the Brahmastra and Shiva. But going by trailer, Shiva is not alone in this fight, he has allies in Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjun. The film promises to be a full-on entertainer and the visual effects used in the film are going to be a highlight. But there are going to be comparisons drawn between Brahmastra and other superhero genre films and for that, the makers must be ready. For now, let’s not be overly critical and hope this one help lift the spirits at the box office. The film is set to release on September 9, 2022. https://ift.tt/JO103NV June 15, 2022 at 12:19PM

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer gives us hope that Marvel will not ruin the Sorcerer Supreme https://www.digit.in news@digit.in (Digit NewsDesk) After the successful release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony and Marvel have seen the first real hit from the Phase 4 series of films. Almost everything after Endgame was rejected by fans with Black Widow and Shang Chi delivering middling box office returns. The media tried blaming everything without actually addressing the problem. Marvel does not understand the fans anymore. We’re hoping that trend does not continue with the latest in the MCU Phase 4 lineup, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The latest trailer for the second instalment of the adventures of Marvel’s Sorceror Supreme does look like a fun time and the return of Baron Mordo as well as the debut of Evil Strange.  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer is out The Multiverse was first explored in No Way Home with Strange opening up doorways to multiple dimensions in the extended MCU after a botched spell trying to help Peter Parker with a particular conundrum. Rest assured, you’ll find no spoilers here so we’ll keep it as clean as possible. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is essentially a play on the revered H.P Lovecraft tale, At the Mountains of Madness, but we assume it’ll have little to do with the famed horror writer, apart from the name. Could we see the return of the fearsome Dormammu? One thing we do know is that we’ll be getting our first look at Shuma-Gorath. The character was an important part of the Marvel Vs Capcom fight game series and this will be the first time we’re seeing a live-action version of the creature. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, the man behind the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films as well as the Evil Dead trilogy. So, of anything, we know that Raimi can deliver. Our only fear is that the head honchos at Marvel will try and cut him out as they've done with countless directors who've challenged their bland, cookie-cutter aesthetics and storytelling skills.  Story details are still under wraps but from what we can see, we assume that it will revolve around the various incarnations of Strange from the multiverse. Could we see different versions of characters from the MCU in the film? We definitely hope so. It’ll give fans a fresh perspective on the characters they’ve fallen in love with over the years. We also get a look at the Scarlet Witch after she enslaved an entire town and never faced any serious repercussions for her heinous actions. In fact, she’s still a hero and is enlisted by Strange to help him with his predicament. We only hope that it’s not the Scarlet Witch film with Strange as a side character. Marvel is perfectly capable of pulling off that horrible bait and switch as the company has made it its mission to shove ‘The Message’ down our throats. We can only hope that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will buck that awful trend.  Also Read: Hawkeye review: A hollow, lifeless show that is emblematic of the sinking MCU ship https://ift.tt/3qn04vU December 23, 2021 at 12:25PM

Bye-Bye Spotify Car View feature, hello, TikTok-inspired video feed https://www.digit.in editor@digit.in (Kajoli Anand Puri) Spotify’s car view feature is created to make the app easier to use while driving. However, the brand is retiring this feature and is “exploring new ways to deliver the best in-car listening experience”, according to a spokesperson. Additionally, Spotify is also working on a feature that will ape TikTok’s short video feature, presumably to allow artists and users to share short clips.  When did Spotify confirm that it’s retiring the Car View feature? Recently, Spotify users noticed that the Car View feature was missing from the app. The Car View feature basically displays the app with a simplified interface and large buttons, allowing people to use the app easily while driving. Users who saw that the same was missing pointed it out on the Spotify Community threat. A moderator representing the brand then responded with, “Think of retiring [the] car-view as something that needs to happen in an effort to make way for new innovations coming down the track,” the moderator posted. Spotify is also reportedly working on an in-car accessory with touch controls. So, removing the Car View feature may be a strategic move to drive user adoption for the new accessory. Spotify is also working on a TikTok-like feature In other news, Spotify is also working on a video sharing feature that will work like TikTok. Based on Chris Messina’s tweet, Spotify may soon have a fourth icon displayed in the toolbar called Discover. This is meant to work as a “pared down version of a TikTok-style feed of vertical music videos” that can be liked or skipped. Messina also said in his tweet that the new feature is  likely to use the company's Canvas feature. The Canvas feature allows users or artists to turn static song/ album art into eight-second visual loops. Sony could be working on a PlayStation mobile controller, according to a new patent https://www.digit.in news@digit.in (Digit NewsDesk) Sony has been riding high on the wave of the launch of the PS5 (review). It’s been a full year since the launch of the PS5 and Sony is now looking at developing a new controller for mobile hardware. First reported by VGC, a new patent has emerged on the internet and it shows off a controller that looks suspiciously like a DualShock 4 but modified for mobile devices like phones. In the image presented below, you can take a look at how the Sony controller will look when connected to a mobile phone or such. It does resemble regular mobile controllers in that the right and left sides of the controller has been split.  In the design above, you can also see that the touchpad is essentially replaced by the mobile screen. It’s actually an ingenious design but it’s a relatively competitive market, so we will have to wait and see if the controller actually sees the light of day. As of right now, users can actually connect the DualShock 4 to a mobile device through Bluetooth but this new controller looks to be specifically built for mobile devices. It seems that a lot of companies are looking at jumping into the mobile gaming market. Netflix has already launched a mobile games division and now Sony is following suit with a new controller.  Back in May, reports emerged that Sony was planning an expansion into the mobile market. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO, Jim Ryan stated that even first-party IPs could even make their way to the small screen. He stated that “We have been thinking about how players enjoy our content, and have had some early success with experimenting with mobile games and apps to provide more choice to gamers and PlayStation’s roster of first-party IP can transition to smartphone gaming and complement our AAA games or live service games.”  Also Read: Sony Reveals Indian Prices For PS5 DualSense Cosmic Red And Midnight Black Controllers https://ift.tt/3xATIfP November 30, 2021 at 04:08PM

Spider-Man: No Way Home India release pushed up a day earlier, will now hit theatres on December 16 https://www.digit.in news@digit.in (Digit NewsDesk) Marvel fans in India have some good news coming their way as Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to hit theatres on December 16. Even though this is just one day earlier than the previous release date, it means the world for fans of the MCU and Spider-Man. There is no official reason as to why the film has been bumped up to December 16. The film marks Sony’s long collaboration with Marvel in the Spider-Man franchise as the rights to the character are still owned by Sony.  Spider-Man: No Way Home to hit Indian theatres on December 16 For fans of Spider-Man, No Way Home concludes the Sony Spider-Man trilogy with Homecoming, Far from Home being the first two films The first instalment saw a new Spider-Man in Tom Holland take up the mantle of the wallcrawler. The new Sony films have been a hit with fans and critics alike who praise Holland as a younger, greener hero who is essentially mentored by Tony Stark. With the events of Endgame throwing a wrench in the MCU, we’ll just have to wait to see how Peter deals with the loss of a mentor.  The new film will also feature Dr Strange as the Sorceror Supreme, who like Tony Stark, is sort of a new kind of mentor for the young Parker. The film will also see the full-on launch of the Multiverse as we’re supposed to see all the three actors who’ve played Spider-Man together for the first time. Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit Indian theatres on December 16. The film stars Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch and a few other surprises that we don’t want to ruin here.  Also Read: Hawkeye review: A hollow, lifeless show that is emblematic of the sinking MCU ship   https://ift.tt/3o0TISW November 29, 2021 at 05:13PM

Netflix looking at acquiring Scanline VFX, the studio behind Stranger Things and MCU special effects https://www.digit.in news@digit.in (Digit NewsDesk) Netflix clearly isn’t satisfied with being one of the biggest OTT services out there and are now looking at jumping into the world of VFX. The streaming giant is looking at acquiring Scanline VFX. The VFX studio is based out of Munich and should be absorbed by Netflix sometime in early 2022. As reported by Tech Crunch, the studio has worked on hit shows such as Stranger Things and the rather disappointing Cowboy Bebop. Scanline was founded in 1989 and is now led by Stephan Trojansky, an award-winning special effects veteran.  In a blog post, Netflix VP of Studio Operations Amy Reinhard stated, “Netflix will invest in Scanline’s pipeline, infrastructure and workforce and continue to support the pioneering work that Scanline’s Eyeline Studios is doing in virtual production to push the boundaries of what is visibly possible.” She continued by stating, “We’ll also continue to rely on many other studios around the world for our VFX needs so we can continue to ensure that our creators have access to the world's most innovative tech, and continue to bring the most compelling and cutting-edge storytelling to our members.” So, we’re assuming that Scanline will be used to bolster the streaming service in terms of quality VFX on their exclusive shows. Scanline has also worked on shows and films like Godzilla vs Kong, Game of Thrones as well as The Justice League. Netflix has also acquired Alburquerque Studios and is looking at investing a billion dollars into growing the studio. Netflix is also looking at taking a dip into the world of games with the acquisition of Night School Studios earlier this year.  Also Read: You can now renew your iOS Netflix subscriptions directly through the app https://ift.tt/3cHGrbs November 23, 2021 at 01:23PM

Amazon Prime Video now allows iOS users in the US to share 30-second clips on limited shows and movies https://www.digit.in news@digit.in (Digit NewsDesk) If you’ve ever felt like sharing a bit of a film or TV show with your friends, Amazon Prime is now giving you that very option. The company announced that users on the Prime Video platform will now be able to share 30-second clips from a select number of shows. The feature is only available on iOS devices in the United States, as of now. There has been no announcement regarding the international launch or Android release in the feature. Users on iOS in the US will now be presented with a Share a Clip button on the video player. You can then click on it and send a 30-second clip of whatever you’re watching to your friends and family.  What is the Sharing feature on Prime Video? We’re not sure of the practical application of this feature and it seems like a bit of a novelty for now. To access the feature, users will have to click on the Share a Clip button after which they will be presented with an editing option. You can then cut out a 30-second clip, which can then be further tweaked and sent to your friends and family. Users can share the clip on platforms like Instagram, Messenger, Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp and Apple’s iMessage.  What shows can be shared using this feature? As of right now, the feature is only available on a select number of shows. These include Season One of the Bos, The Wilds, Fairfax and the animated hit Invincible. Amazon has said that the company will be expanding their roster of films and shows where users can send clips from. Maybe Amazon is looking at capturing the meme market with short punchy clips, but to be really sure, we’ll just have to wait and see.  Also Read: The Amazon Prime Membership in India is about to get more expensive https://ift.tt/3E1s0dX November 12, 2021 at 05:51PM

The IMAX aspect ratio is, for the time being, available for 13 Marvel Cinematic Universe films, letting comic-buffs enjoy their favourite stories in a more visually immersive style.  What does the IMAX ratio do? The new IMAX Enhanced feature on Disney+ allows you to view content in what is known as the IMAX ratio, which is 1.90:1. What does this mean for viewers? Well, the content will now be 26% taller when compared to the widescreen format it is available in. The widescreen format, for reference, is 2.35:1. Scenes that were shot in the IMAX format will appear more spectacular, with reduced black bars.  How do you know if a film is IMAX Enhanced? When you’re browsing movies on Disney+, you’ll be able to see a new label that indicates whether the movie is compatible with the new IMAX Enhanced feature. Through this, you’ll know which movies can be watched in this new format, and which cannot. In case you don’t want to watch your favourite MCU movie in the IMAX format, you can always change the settings to the standard version and watch it that way. User’s should note that IMAX Enhanced will offer immersive DTS sound to Disney+, which should significantly enhance the sound in general. Which MCU films will be available in the IMAX Enhanced format? Currently, Disney+ has made the feature available across 13 Marvel movies. These include Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain America: Civil War, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2, Iron Man, Thor Ragnarok, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. These changes will be implemented by November 12. https://ift.tt/eA8V8J November 09, 2021 at 06:00PM

Googles 2-Step Verification has rolled out https://www.digit.in editor@digit.in (Kajoli Anand Puri) Earlier this year, Google had revealed that it would be rolling out its new 2-step verification protocol to keep accounts safe. Now, the tech giant has begun rolling out the mandate, and this means that it has begun the process of enrolling close to 150 million accounts automatically. Currently, the process has been initiated for the first wave of accounts that have completed all their configuration requirements. In fact, Google has informed these users that the 2-step verification will be activated automatically on their accounts by 9th November. Who will get the automatic enrollment by 9 November? According to Google, accounts that have not signed up for the 2-step verification already will be automatically enrolled for the same. However, this statement only holds true for accounts that have completed their configuration requirements. Any account with a phone number or recovery email linked to it is eligible for the 2-step verification protection. Accounts without the same are not eligible for the protection as of now. How can you sign up for 2-Step verification on Gmail? Here’s some good news for those who want to protect their accounts. You can sign up for two-step verification on your own, and don’t have to wait for the company to enroll you. Doing so is quite easy. All you need to do is follow these steps: Google > Select Account > Security > Signing In to Google > 2-step verification. Provided that your phone number or recovery email is linked to your Google Account, you will be able to initiate the verification instantly.  Additionally, you can also turn off the 2-step verification system in case you don’t want it on your account. However, according to Google, this makes your account less secure, so you might not want to do the same.  https://ift.tt/eA8V8J November 09, 2021 at 05:57PM

The stack of l1l2 is still very proud, if you are not interested in high-quality periscope and super wide-angle, you can use the standard version. The 50MP outsole main camera is not bad this time, and the 100W fast charge super large battery can also maintain a slim body. — Digital Chat Station (@chat_station) November 8, 2021 It seems like Xiaomi is reserving the 120W fast charging speed for the Ultra version, but it may also equip it with a faster charging system than that. The tipster also notes that the Xiaomi 12 will have a large battery, but will maintain a slim design. Xiaomi was the first company to launch a phone powered by the Snapdragon 888 last year, the Mi 11 and it could be looking to replicate that this year with the launch of its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 12.  As of writing this, it remains unclear whether Xiaomi is launching a single flagship or multiple phones in the Xiaomi 12 flagship series. Earlier leaks have also suggested that the Xiaomi 12 Pro could have a 50MP triple-camera setup, but there is no information on that yet. Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit also begins on November 30, which is where everyone expects the chip-maker to launch the next-generation Snapdragon 898 chip. https://ift.tt/2M3gsRJ November 09, 2021 at 05:15PM

Netflix finally rolls out its Spatial Audio feature for the iPad and iPhone https://www.digit.in news@digit.in (Digit NewsDesk) It looks like Netflix is finally launching Spatial Audio support for the iPhone and iPad on iOS 14. So, what is Spatial Audio? The feature essentially creates a more immersive audio experience through the use of directional audio filters. Spatial Audio is a technology introduced by Apple in June 2020, which uses the head tracking feature to mimic a theatre-like surround sound experience, making the audio sound like it's coming from around a user with sound mapped to the device. As of right now, the feature is exclusive to the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.  What is Netflix's Spatial Audio feature? In a statement to 9to5Mac, Apple stated that, “Spatial audio with dynamic head tracking brings the movie theatre experience right to your AirPods Pro. By applying directional audio filters and subtly adjusting the frequencies each ear receives, spatial audio can place sounds virtually anywhere in space, creating an immersive surround sound experience. Using the gyroscope and accelerometer in your AirPods Pro and your iPhone, spatial audio tracks the motion of your head as well as your device, compares the motion data, and then remaps the sound field so that it stays anchored to your device even as your head moves.”  The report also goes on to state that even if you move your head or the device, the audio will match the angle and deliver Spatial Audio in the right spot. Apple has stated that this will be a slower rollout so do keep checking the app to see if you’ve received it.  https://ift.tt/eA8V8J August 19, 2021 at 06:18PM
