The Amazon Prime Membership in India is about to get more expensive https://www.digit.in editor@digit.in (Kajoli Anand Puri) Amazon has confirmed that the price for the Amazon Prime Membership in India will be increasing by up to 50%, which translates to roughly Rs 500 for the annual package. The rate hike will apply to all the different types of memberships the company offers. Amazon will continue to offer access to Prime Video, Amazon Music, Prime Reading, and Prime Gaming under the same membership package. Amazon Prime Membership in India: New prices As per Amazon’s announcement, you can expect the following changes in membership prices: Plan Current Price New Price Monthly Rs. 129 Rs. 179 Quarterly Rs. 329 Rs. 459 Yearly Rs. 999 Rs. 1499 Prime Young Adult Monthly Rs. 64 (Rs. 65 cashback) Rs. 89 (Rs. 90 cashback) Prime Young Adult Quarterly Rs. 164 (Rs. 165 cashback) Rs. 229 (Rs. 230 cashback) Prime Young Adult Yearly Rs. 499 (Rs. 500 cashback) Rs. 749 (Rs. 750 cashback)     Amazon’s affordable pricing in India is what has helped the platform maintain an edge over Netflix. With other OTT platforms such as Disney+ Hotstar, Voot, Zee5 and others offering annual plans that don’t exceed Rs 999, Amazon may end up seeing a dip in their subscriber base. To combat this, the platform is probably working behind the scenes on increasing its content offerings. Hopefully, this means we’ll see a surge in content, and Family Man Season 3 launches sooner than later!  Also Read: Amazon could be jumping headfirst into the podcasting and live show market with new app https://ift.tt/3E1s0dX October 21, 2021 at 05:01PM
